FREDERICTON, NB: Jessica Melanson, a lawyer and partner at Melanson Law, will return as a co-chair of the Canadian Bar Association – New Brunswick Branch’s Civil Litigation Fall Conference on September 25, 2026.
The full-day conference, Hot Topics in Torts & Insurance, will take place at the Wu Conference Centre in Fredericton. This year’s program will focus on timely developments, practical updates, and emerging issues affecting tort and insurance law.
Melanson will co-chair the conference alongside George A. McAllister, K.C., of George A. McAllister, P.C.; Kevin C. Toner, K.C., of Toner Brown Lawyers/Avocats; and Mitchell L.H. Fraser of Canty Lutz Grant.
This marks the second consecutive year that Melanson has served as a co-chair of the CBA-NB Civil Litigation Fall Conference.
“Continuing legal education gives lawyers an opportunity to learn from each other and discuss the issues that are changing how we practise,” said Melanson. “Tort and insurance law are constantly developing, and conferences like this give practitioners a chance to share their experience and consider how those developments affect their clients and their work. I’m honoured to be co-chairing the conference again this year.”
The conference is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Atlantic Time. Attendees may be eligible for up to 6.5 hours of mandatory continuing professional development. Registration is currently open, with the complete agenda and speaker lineup to be announced by the CBA-NB.
